The Teen Advisory Committee (TAC) and staff from the Benton Harbor Student Health Center attended Youth Advocacy Day 2026 on April 28th in Lansing.

While there, the students met with 4 different Representative's teams and discussed the impact of Student Health Centers in their lives and their school/communities. The students were wonderful representations of the youth of Benton Harbor and even had the opportunity to listen to a speech by Gov. Whitmer. The TAC from Benton Harbor Student Health Center had been requesting the Governor of Michigan to come and speak to the youth for the last 2 years. The organizers of the event stated that their requests and persistence played a vital part in getting the Governor to come to the event.

We are very proud of our students and extremely grateful for the staff at the Benton Harbor Student Health Center for thier unwavering dedication to our youth! #TigerPride #YouthAdvocacyDay #BHLeaders

Balancing academics with athletics requires an incredible amount of discipline and heart. Today, we salute our student-athletes who give 100 percent in the classroom before they ever step onto the court or field. They represent the resilience and spirit of BHAS in everything they do. Go Tigers!
