Dear Tiger Families:

At Benton Harbor Area Schools, we believe that the foundation of a strong school remains kindness and mutual respect. Our students, families and staff deserve a safe, uplifting environment, and we are incredibly thankful for a school community that helps us make that a reality.

Building this culture is a collaborative effort. We want every Tiger to know they are never alone. We encourage our students to always speak with a trusted adult if they see or experience bullying. Students may also message a trusted staff member directly through Rooms to share concerns and seek support.

Additionally, OK2SAY remains a vital, confidential resource available 24/7 for students to anonymously report concerns and keep our hallways safe. Students can submit tips by calling 855-565-2729 or texting 652729 (OK2SAY).

Our commitment to fostering a nurturing environment includes supporting the incredible families and staff we are fortunate to have throughout our schools. We recognize that supporting our students effectively requires that our entire school community also have access to the resources needed to thrive. As such, we are introducing a bullying and conflict resolution hotline at 269-605-1099. Family and staff who believe they are being bullied are encouraged to use this number so that the district can address issues in a timely manner.

By looking out for one another, we ensure that every member of our community feels valued and protected. Together, we are building a brighter, kinder future for Benton Harbor and ensuring that it’s great to be a Tiger.

With gratitude,

Dr. Simone Griffin
