Calvin Britain Elementary School encourages parent involvement.

Parents are invited and encouraged to visit our school to see all of the wonderful things that are happening.  Parents are an important piece of the education puzzle and we encourage parents to become involved in their children's educational lives.  When you visit, please be sure to check in at the office before contacting a teacher or your child.

There are many ways you can become involved in your child's education and school community.

     *Volunteer in your child's classroom.

*Share a hobby or talent with your child's class.

*Be sure to ask your child what he/she did at school each day and don't take "nothing" for an answer.

*Supervise your child's homework each night and be sure to sign it.

*Set aside the time from 6-7 p.m. each night for reading.  This can be each family member reading independently or each family member taking turns reading aloud or even a parent reading to a child (and vice versa).  Make reading an essential part of each day and your child's academic success will improve.

*You are your child's first and most important teacher.  Cherish that responsibility and become involved in your child's school life.
