Free and Reduced Lunch/Milk Applications
Benton Harbor Area Schools participates in direct certification which pre-approves students for free meals in households receiving food stamps.  If you received an approval letter, your child will receive free meals.  If you did not receive an approval letter, the following has been provided to determine eligibility and enroll qualified students in the  Free and Reduced Price School Meals Program:

NOTE : IF THERE IS NO APPLICATION ON FILE FOR YOUR CHILD OR YOU DID NOT RECEIVE A LETTER STATING THAT YOUR FAMILY IS APPROVED FOR FREE MEALS, FULL PRICE IS DUE EACH DAY A MEAL IS TAKEN. THERE IS NO FREE LUNCH UNLESS THERE IS A LETTER OR AN APPLICATION ON FILE WHICH QUALIFIES YOUR CHILD FOR FREE MEALS.

Lunch Substitutions
If a doctor has determined that your child has a disability, and the disability would prevent the child from eating the regular school meal, the school will make any substitutions prescribed by a doctor at no extra charge. For further information, call (269) 605-2820. The doctor's statement, including diet and/or substitutions, must be submitted to the food service department at your school.
