SCHOOL-COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS' RELATIONSHIPS PARENT ORGANIZATIONS
The Board recognizes the need for communication between parents and staff and encourages involvement of parents in the formal education of their children. Towards this end school newsletters or newspapers shall be established and maintained in every school building in the district. The building administrator shall be responsible for seeing that these publications are sent to parents at least on a monthly basis during each school year. Efforts shall be made to encourage students and parents to work on these publications as well as building staff members.

Further, the Board desires that formal parent-teacher organizations be established and maintained in every school building in the district. We expect that these organizations will establish by-laws, elect officers, and conduct at least three meetings during each school year. Evidence of these by-laws, officers, and meeting dates shall be provided to the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction who shall then keep the Board informed of these building activities. Principals shall serve as advisors to these organizations and all building personnel shall be encouraged to attend the meetings of these organizations. It is our desire that each building's parent-teacher organization become a school community of actively involved parents and staff who will focus their combined talents, energies, and activities towards the students of that building.
