Applications for the use of Filstrup Field or the
Don Farnum Gymnasium at the high school shall also be approved and
scheduled by the Athletic Director.
Applications for community use of kitchen facilities
for the preparation and/or service of meals shall also be approved and
scheduled by the current provider of Food Services.
Except for school sponsored groups, all applications
of an athletic nature or a possible high risk event shall include a
certificate of liability coverage for participants. The district will
assist in helping potential renters to find coverage. The district may
accept an agreement to hold the district harmless from any and all
claims and liabilities from the use of the facility if the rental is
of a non- athletic nature. Such decisions shall be made by the
Superintendent or designee.
Applications shall include payment of 100% of the
fee in advance of the event. Checks shall be made to the order of the
"Benton Harbor Area Schools." Applications shall state the nature of
the activity and the specific areas of the facility that are to be
used. All other areas of the facility shall be OFF LIMITS during the
activity.
A custodian, or responsible staff member of the
facility, shall open and close all areas that are to be used.
If necessary, applications must include evidence
that emergency municipal regulations, licenses, or fees have been or
will be provided at no cost to the district.
