PUBLIC INFORMATION PROGRAM/SCHOOL-SPONSORED INFORMATION MEDIA
Publications issued by and in the name of the district shall reflect
the high regard and aspirations of the citizens for their schools.
There shall be no compromise with high quality of editorial content
and effective format. The exercise of appropriate economy in materials
and production is expected so long as the main purpose is not
jeopardized.
Regular and special radio and television programs,
videos, and public relations films shall be consistent with the goals
of the district and the instructional guidelines approved by the
Board. It is important that such programs also reflect the high regard
and aspirations of the citizens for their schools.
Regularly published public information materials
shall include: Your Schools, the district newsletter to the
public (issued bimonthly during the school year); Board
Mini-Minutes, communicating highlights of Board meetings to the
public (issued after every regular Board meeting); individual school
newsletters (issued monthly by the principal); and the annual report
to the public (published in a daily newspaper of general circulation
in the Benton Harbor area).
