STUDENTS
ATTENDANCE/TRUANCY
Public Act 53 requires school district personnel
to show that they have met with the student's parents, guardian, or
custodian to discuss the student's educational problems; and also,
that educational counseling and alternative agency help has been
sought before the Juvenile Court can proceed with a truancy case.
The Superintendent or designee shall develop a plan
to assure that the law is followed and review the administrative rules
and regulations with the Board.
See "Uniform Code of Discipline and Students' Rights
and Responsibilities" handbook, which is made a part of this policy
manual, for specific provisions regarding student truancy from school.
