ACADEMIC
ACHIEVEMENT/PARENT CONFERENCES
The Board recognizes the need for
direct communication between parents and teachers regarding the
academic achievement of students. Parent-teacher cooperation in
educating students is absolutely necessary. Therefore, teachers shall
schedule conferences with individual parents for the sole purpose of
discussing the student's academic achievement in school. Such
conferences shall be held during school days and/or evenings at least
twice each school year; once in the fall and once in the spring.
Students may be dismissed for one-half day on each conference day and
they may attend such conferences along with their parents. A maximum
of six conference days may be designated during any school year.
Kindergarten and other teachers with 28 or more students may be
granted additional conference time if needed.
