TEXTBOOK SELECTION AND
ADOPTION
The Board shall adopt all
textbooks for use in the schools. So that textbooks will be available
for students at the start of classes in the fall, all requests for
textbook approvals and purchases shall be presented to the Board by
the May regular meeting. In keeping with state law, all textbooks
adopted and used in the district shall be on the state-approved list.
Selection of textbooks shall be the overall
responsibility of the Superintendent or designee, who shall establish
such committees as required for the review of materials available.
Textbook selection committees shall complete their work in a timely
manner to meet the May deadline for presentations to the Board.
Teachers who will use the textbooks shall be given a
role in their selection.
