CURRICULUM
DESIGN/SPECIAL PROGRAMS/SPECIAL EDUCATION
The Board is committed to the
education of all school age children and youth in the district,
including those who are handicapped.
As required by state law and regulated
by the State Board of Education, the Board shall provide access to
suitable facilities and programs of education for children who are
classified as handicapped. The handicapped shall be identified in
accordance with rules governing programs and services for handicapped
persons as promulgated by the State Board of Education.
Placement of children in special
classes shall be subject to the approval of the Superintendent or
designee upon recommendation by an Individual Educational Planning
Committee, and placement shall be made after a conference with
parents.
