BASIC
INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAM
The basic instructional
program, which includes the full range of district offerings from
preschool through adult education, shall be designed to implement the
educational philosophy and the instructional goals established by the
Board. There shall be a strong educational foundation in basic
learning skills at all levels, and in particular areas of academic and
general education at the secondary level. Physical education, arts,
and music shall be part of the curricula at all levels.
In addition to the basic instructional
program, the Board shall (within budgetary limitations) provide
educational alternatives to meet the special needs of students.
The school district shall maintain its
participation in regional planning for vocational and career
education. All vocational programs and proposals shall be developed
and processed as stipulated in the Michigan Department of Education
plan for vocational education.
