INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAM/GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
The district is committed to providing an environment that promotes the personal dignity of each student and encourages the development of physical, emotional, and mental capabilities to the fullest potential. The essence of this commitment is to be found in the following goals:

  1. To promote public understanding of the educational process -- what it is and how it works.
  2. To develop the basic skills of communication and reasoning that are essential for a full and productive life.
  3. To provide the occupational competence necessary for employment, and for a working performance that is gratifying to the individual and the employer.
  4. To foster the ability to adapt to the demands, opportunities, and values of a changing world.
  5. To foster understanding of human relations -- a respect for other people and an ability to relate to them.
  6. To instill knowledge and appreciation of the sciences, arts, and humanities at a level required for participation in an ever more complex world.
  7. To promote understanding of the processes of effective citizenship so that the individual may participate in and contribute to our government.
  8. To encourage the formation of ethical and moral values essential to individual dignity and human civilization.
  9. To instill a knowledge of the environment and to stress the importance of maintaining a balance between one's own acts and the quality of the environment.
  10. To foster the awareness and knowledge necessary to maintain one's mental, physical, and emotional health.

The Board charges the administration with the development of specific objectives to meet the needs established by these goals.
