PARAPROFESSIONAL PERSONNEL NEGOTIATIONS LEGAL STATUS
The Board shall negotiate with the paraprofessional personnel bargaining unit pursuant to Act 336 of the Public Acts of 1947, as amended by Act 379 of 1965.
This act requires public employers, including boards of education, to enter into collective bargaining with duly chosen employee representatives for the purpose of discussing wages, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.
It is the legal responsibility of both the Board and the Benton Harbor Paraprofessional Association of the MEA/NEA to bargain in good faith as they conduct negotiations.
