NONPROFESSIONAL PERSONNEL NEGOTIATING ORGANIZATIONS
The Board recognizes the BENTON HARBOR CHAPTER OF THE MICHIGAN EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT PERSONNEL ASSOCIATION, Secretarial Unit, as the sole and exclusive collective bargaining representative for all full-time and regular part-time secretarial and clerical employees, excluding:

Secretaries to the Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent for Business and Finance, the Assistant Superintendent for Personnel and Evaluation, and all other employees of the Board.

The Board recognizes the BENTON HARBOR AREA SCHOOLS, Chapter of LOCAL NO. 953, affiliated with COUNCIL NO. 25 of the INTERNATIONAL UNION OF THE AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY, AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES, AFL-CIO, Custodial and Maintenance Unit, as the sole and exclusive collective bargaining representative for all full-time and part-time custodial employees, maintenance employees, mailman, stock and delivery driver, storeroom attendant and bus mechanics of the Board, excluding:

Temporary employees and student help, Custodial Foreman, Coordinator of Maintenance, warehouse supervisor and all other employees of the Board.

The Board recognizes the BENTON HARBOR AREA SCHOOLS, Chapter of LOCAL NO. 953, affiliated with COUNCIL NO. 25 of the INTERNATIONAL UNION OF THE AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY, AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES, AFL-CIO, Bus Drivers Unit, as the sole and exclusive collective bargaining representative for all full- time and regular part-time school bus drivers, excluding:

Dispatchers, temporary employees, substitutes, all office and other service employees of the Board.

The Board recognizes the BENTON HARBOR AREA SCHOOLS, Chapter of LOCAL NO. 953, affiliated with COUNCIL NO. 25 of the INTERNATIONAL UNION OF THE AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY, AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES, AFL-CIO, Food Service Unit, as the sole and exclusive collective bargaining representative of food service employees, including cooks, food servers, and food transportation drivers, excluding:

Temporary employees, substitute employees, supervisors, and all other employees of the Board.

The labor agreements between the Board and the above units are considered appendices to this policy manual. The terms of the labor agreements shall have the force of Board policy and shall take precedence over other policies in any instances of conflict.
