PROFESSIONAL
PERSONNEL NEGOTIATING ORGANIZATION
The Board recognizes the
NORTHERN BERRIEN COUNTY EDUCATION ASSOCIATION/MEA/NEA and its local
affiliate, the BENTON HARBOR EDUCATION ASSOCIATION/MEA/NEA, as the
sole and exclusive bargaining representative for all professional
certificated personnel including all classroom teachers, summer school
teachers, adult education teachers, driver education teachers, nurses,
therapists, psychologists, social workers, guidance counselors,
department chair- persons, librarians, consultants, vocational
education teachers, and permanent substitutes employed in the same
position for 60 consecutive working days,
excluding:
the Superintendent, Assistant Superintendents,
directors, principals, assistant principals, administrative
assistants, coordinators, supervisors, facilitators, foremen,
paraprofessionals, office clerical, custodial, bus drivers, cooks
and food service workers, maintenance personnel, per diem
substitutes, and all other administrators and non-teaching employees
of the Board.
The labor agreement between the Board and the above
unit is considered an appendix to this policy manual. The terms of the
labor agreement shall have the force of Board policy and shall take
precedence over other policies in any instances of conflict.
