PROFESSIONAL
PERSONNEL NEGOTIATIONS LEGAL STATUS
The Board shall
negotiate with the professional personnel bargaining unit pursuant to
Act 336 of the Public Acts of 1947, as amended by Act 379 of 1965.
This act requires public employers, including boards
of education, to enter into collective bargaining with duly chosen
employee representatives for the purpose of discussing wages, hours,
and other terms and conditions of employment.
It is the legal responsibility of both the Board and
the professional bargaining units to bargain in good faith as they
conduct negotiations.
