PARAPROFESSIONAL PERSONNEL COMPENSATION GUIDES AND CONTRACTS
It is the policy of the Board to attempt to pay all its paraprofessional personnel at a level that will attract and hold employees of high ability and dedication.

Under policy, the Board negotiates with employee groups concerning the wages and other working conditions of the employees represented. The Board recognizes the following bargaining unit:

BENTON HARBOR PARAPROFESSIONAL CHAPTER OF THE MICHIGAN EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT PERSONNEL ASSOCIATION

As the sole and exclusive bargaining representative for all paraprofessional employees, proctors, and attendance officers of the district (excluding administrative employees, supervisory employees, maintenance employees, teachers, secretaries, food service employees, hall supervisors, bus drivers, security and all other employees of the Board).

The labor agreement between the Board and the above unit is considered an appendix to this policy manual. The terms of the labor agreement shall have the force of Board policy and shall take precedence over other policies in any instances of conflict.

The Board shall establish salary schedules and benefits for all employees not covered by labor agreements between the Board and the above employee group.
