NONPROFESSIONAL PERSONNEL HEALTH EXAMINATIONS
The Board shall require all
nonprofessional personnel to have a medical examination at the
beginning of their employment. As a precondition of employment, the
medical examination must include drug testing and the physician shall
provide a statement that the candidate is free from drugs, or a
written explanation as to the reason that drugs are being used shall
be provided to the Assistant Superintendent for Personnel and
Evaluation.
Evidence of freedom from communicable tuberculosis
is a condition of employment for all full-time and part-time employees
and all day-to-day substitutes employed by the Board. Such evidence
shall be filed with the employee's personnel record and shall be
renewed every three years.
The Board may also require additional examinations
when an employee appears to be in less than normal physical or mental
health. All health examinations shall be made by physicians acceptable
to the Board. Pre-employment examinations and other examinations as
may be required shall be at the expense of the Board.
