PROFESSIONAL PERSONNEL EVALUATION
In order to assure the continuation of a sound educational program, the Superintendent shall implement an evaluation process for the purpose of helping staff members strengthen their professional abilities.

This evaluation process shall assure that:

  1. The criteria used in evaluation are based on the stated instructional goals and objectives of the district and relate to the staff members' job descriptions and objectives.
  2. All procedures, forms, job descriptions and objectives, and evaluation criteria are developed cooperatively with the persons affected.
  3. Evaluation criteria are explicit, encourage objective judgments, and in the case of teachers, relate as much as possible to those performances and behaviors that bear directly on the performance and behavior of students and the advancement of the instructional program.
  4. Evaluations shall be conducted in a fair and friendly manner, and with full knowledge of the person being evaluated. Channels shall be set up by the Superintendent for the person evaluated to appeal unfavorable evaluations through standard grievance procedures.
