The Board commits itself to the principle of selection of the most highly qualified persons and provision of equal opportunity and hereby adopts a policy of nondiscrimination so that no person shall, on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, sex, national origin, age, marital status, veteran status, weight and height, or handicap, be excluded from participation in any activity under the jurisdiction of the Board.

This policy includes a provision for equal opportunity in purchasing goods and services from the public, in employment and in educational opportunities.

The Board charges the Superintendent with the responsibility for the effectuation of this policy as adopted by the Board, and the Board hereby bestows upon the Superintendent, or designee,  commensurate authority to carry out said responsibility.

The Board pledges the necessary human and financial resources needed to implement this policy and the Superintendent, or designee, shall review the results to insure that administrative practices and behavior is consistent with this policy.
