NEPOTISM
A Board of Education is not required to have a
nepotism policy. However, adoption of such policy does serve to diffuse
challenges that the Superintendent or the Board members are using their
public positions for personal, family or financial gain.
No District employee shall be placed in a position
in which said employee is in direct supervisory relationship with a
member of said employee’s immediate family. In cases of nepotism the
Superintendent or designee shall supervise and evaluate said employees.
Members of the immediate family shall be defined
as husband, wife, father, mother, brother, sister, son, daughter,
son-in-law, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle, aunt,
nephew, niece, cousin, or any other relatives living in the same
household.
