INSURANCE
MANAGEMENT
The Superintendent or designee shall
be responsible for the management and safekeeping of all district
insurance policies.
To protect the district's interests and ensure that
the purchase of insurance shall be accomplished in the manner most
advantageous to the district, the Board may engage qualified insurance
counsel to provide professional guidance in the preparation of insurance
specifications and the review of bids, and to advise the Board as to its
rights and duties in cases of loss. Such counsel shall be retained on a
one year contract which may be renewed by mutual agreement.
Final approval of the purchase of insurance and the
periodic updating of insurance coverage shall be the sole responsibility
of the Board.
