SPECIAL USE OF SCHOOL BUSES RULES AND REGULATIONS
The Group Director of Operations and Facilities shall be responsible for carrying out and interpreting the Board's policy on special use of buses. The Coordinator of Transportation shall assist the Group Director of Operations and Facilities in making specific arrangements.

All requests for the special use of buses must be submitted in writing to the Assistant Superintendent of Instruction & Support Services after preliminary approval by the building administrator. Requests shall then be forwarded to the transportation department, at least 12 days before the date of the trip. "Request for Bus" forms shall be used. The transportation department shall set the schedule at least one week and one day before the date of the trip.

Transportation for athletic teams and for events relating to athletics, music, and performing arts shall be scheduled by direct communication between the Athletic Director, Director of Music, and the Coordinator of Transportation.

In instances of conflicting assignments, requests shall be considered on a first-come, first-serve basis; however, athletic, music, and performing arts trips shall take precedence over other field trips. To avoid conflict, requests shall be made as early as possible.
