STUDENT
TRANSPORTATION SAFETY
The safe transportation of
students to and from school shall be of primary concern to school
officials in the administration of the student transportation program.
All state laws and regulations pertaining to the safe use of school
buses shall be observed by drivers, students, and district personnel.
The Superintendent or designee in cooperation with
building administrators, shall have the responsibility for developing
and publishing safety rules to be followed by drivers and passengers
during bus transportation.
For safety reasons, some students shall be eligible
for bus transportation if they are in grades K-6 and must cross major
arteries or walk on roads that have posted speed limits of 35 MPH or
more. Providing transportation shall be contingent upon the availability
of equipment and funds.
