BUILDINGS AND
GROUNDS MANAGEMENT/LEASING AND RENTING
The Board shall review and approve
all proposals to lease, rent, transfer, exchange, and grant district
property, or request property from other school districts, institutions
of higher learning, government agencies, or nonschool community groups.
In preparing such proposals, the Superintendent shall
consult with the district's legal counsel, who shall prepare any
documents necessary, and review plans with the Federal court master. The
proposals shall then be submitted to the Board with a summary of all
background information and a recommendation for Board action.
The Board recognizes the need for convenient public
meeting places in the community and stands ready to make facilities of
the district available to nonschool organizations on a cost basis,
provided such gatherings do not take place during school hours or
conflict in any other way with the proper functioning of the schools.
All short-term facility rentals by community groups
shall be approved by the Superintendent or designee. Maintaining records
of the use of facilities by nonschool groups and collecting rental fees,
as determined by Board Policy KG, and making an annual report to the
Board on such usage and rental income shall be the responsibility of the
Superintendent or designee.
