EMERGENCY DRILLS
State law requires that a minimum of six fire, two tornado and
two lockdown drills be held during each school year. Each
building administrator shall prepare a definite emergency plan for each
and furnish to all staff and students information as to route and manner
of exit during fire drills. Fire drills shall be planned in such a way
as to accomplish the evacuation of District buildings in the shortest
possible time and in the most efficient and orderly fashion. Tornado
and lockdown drills shall be planned and executed by building
administrator ( or designee).
All teachers shall take attendance rolls
from the class record book as soon as the students have reached their
designated emergency location.
Lockdown drills shall
be held in accordance with established rules of the District.
The building
administrator shall provide the Superintendent or designee with a report
on all fire drills, stating the date the drill was held, and the time
required for evacuation of the building.
