FIRE PREVENTION
Fire prevention measures in the
district shall be administered in compliance with the State Safety Code;
directives of the State Fire Marshall; and in cooperation with the
Benton Harbor Fire Department.
Fire prevention practices
shall reflect the top priority which the Board gives to the welfare of
students and staff. The Superintendent or designee shall be responsible
for making sure that building administrators, and others in charge of
staff safety and district property, are kept informed of current state
and local fire regulations.
When district property
is in use for purposes other than instruction (i.e. athletic events,
student performances, or use by non-school groups), those in charge of
the building at that time (designated by the principal or Board policy)
shall be responsible for compliance with the regulations set forth by
the Benton Harbor Fire Department and the State Fire Marshall.
