LOCAL TAX
REVENUES
As authorized by law, the Board shall
set and certify the tax levy for each fiscal year within statutory
limitations and within the limitation set by the district voters.
The "Report of School District Board to
the Township or City Clerk of School Tax Levy" must be filed each year
on or before June 15th, for the City of Benton Harbor and for the
Townships of Bainbridge, Benton, Hagar, Pipestone, St. Joseph, and
Sodus.
Levies are based on valuations supplied
by the Berrien County Intermediate School District (B.C.I.S.D.). They
shall be expressed in terms of millages and shall not direct the raising
of any specific amount of money.
