ADMINISTRATIVE PERSONNEL COMPENSATION GUIDES AND CONTRACTS
It is the policy of the Board to attempt to pay all of its administrative personnel at a level that will attract and hold employees of high ability and dedication to education.

In June of each year, following annual evaluations, the Superintendent shall make recommendations to the Board concerning salaries for the Management Team.

Under policy, the Board negotiates with employee groups concerning wages and other working condition of the employees represented. The Board recognizes the following bargaining unit: BENTON HARBOR AREA SCHOOLS ADMINISTRATORS ASSOCIATION as the exclusive bargaining representative for all elementary principals and their assistants, secondary principals and their assistants, Purchasing Agent, Accountant, JROTC Officer, Custodian Foreman, directors, coordinators, supervisors, facilitators, and administrative assistants excluding the Superintendent and all Assistant Superintendents.

The labor agreement between the Board and the above unit is considered an appendix to this policy manual. The terms of the labor agreement shall have the force of Board policy and shall take precedence over other policies in any instances of conflict.

The Board shall establish salary schedules and benefits for all employees not covered by labor agreements between the Board and the above employee group.
