ADMINISTRATION GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
Proper administration of the district
is vital to a successful educational program. It shall be the general
purpose of the administration to coordinate and supervise, under Board
policies, the total operation of the district. Administrative duties and
functions shall be appraised in terms of the contribution made to the
continuing improvement of instruction and learning.
The Board shall rely on the Superintendent to provide
the professional administrative leadership necessary for the effective
operation of the district. All administrators are expected to administer
their units in accordance with Board policies and the Superintendent's
rules and regulations.
The Board shall assume the responsibility for clearly
defining and stating requirements and expectations of the Superintendent
and then holding the Superintendent accountable for evaluating how well
those requirements and expectations are met. In turn, the Superintendent
shall be responsible for clearly specifying those requirements and
expectations of administrators and holding each accountable by
evaluating how well such requirements and expectations are met.
Major goals of
administrators in the district shall be:
- To manage the district's departments, units, and
programs efficiently and effectively.
- To provide professional advice and counsel to the
Board and advisory groups established by Board action. This shall be
done through reviewing alternatives, analyzing the advantages and
disadvantages of each, and making recommendations.

To implement the
management function to assure the most effective learning programs,
through achieving the following:
- providing leadership in keeping abreast of
current educational developments;
- arranging for staff development necessary to
establish and operate instructional programs that best meet most
learner needs;
- coordinating cooperative efforts to improve
instructional programs, facilities, equipment, and materials; and
- providing access to the decision-making process
to include improvement ideas of staff, students, parents, and
community residents.
