Items of business may be suggested by any Board
member, staff member, or citizen of the district. Inclusion of items
shall be at the discretion of the Superintendent, upon the advice of the
Committee-of-the-Whole.
Each planned recommendation proposed for adoption or
other action by the Board shall be reduced to writing and submitted to
the members of the Board prior to the work session along with the agenda
and other meeting materials. Each recommendation shall be a separate
document and shall be supported by such documentation, analysis, and
background information (including budgets and funding sources) as the
Board deems necessary for proper and informed action.
The agenda and meeting packet shall be delivered to
Board members on Fridays preceding the work session and the regular
meeting. In order to accommodate the delivery, all items proposed for
the agenda and all communications to be included in the meeting packets,
shall be in the hands of the Superintendent by the Wednesday noon
preceding the Board work session.
Copies of the work session agenda shall be sent to all
administrators and bargaining unit presidents and shall be posted on
school bulletin boards prior to the work session meeting. In this
manner, the school community shall be informed about possible future
actions of the Board and have an opportunity to make their interests and
concerns known to the Board at the work session.
So that citizens shall have an opportunity to voice
their opinions, the agenda shall allow suitable time for comments,
proposals, and inquiries from the audience. A citizen shall also be
permitted to request the scheduling of items on the agenda (see
statement coded BCBI).
Copies of the agenda shall be provided for visitors at
meetings of the Board.
