SCHOOL BOARD GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
The Board is committed to the education of all students appropriate to the best of their individual abilities; to a constant awareness of the concerns and desires of the community regarding the quality and performance of the district, with the Board assuming an educational leadership role; to the employment of a Superintendent who shall see that the district maintains an outstanding position and under whose leadership district personnel shall carry out the policies of the Board with imagination and dedication; and to the continued involvement of the district for the benefit of its residents.

To this end, the Board shall meet in the spring of each year to develop district goals for the following school year. The Superintendent shall provide a vehicle for staff and community involvement in the formulation of these goals. In September of each year, the Superintendent shall present administrative objectives and time lines that have been developed to meet each of the specified district goals. An update on progress of the administrative objectives to meet the district goals shall be presented to the Board in January of each year. The Superintendent and appropriate staff shall present a final report to the Board in May of each year on attainment of the district goals for that school year.

The Board shall review the effectiveness of its internal operations on an annual basis. The purpose of this evaluation shall be the improvement of Board leadership. The Superintendent and others who work regularly with the Board may be asked to participate in this review and to suggest ways by which the Board can improve its functioning as a deliberative and legislative body.
