SCHOOL CALENDAR
By June 1st of each year, the Board shall approve the school district calendar for the subsequent school year. It is recognized that the school calendar is part of the collective bargaining agreements of the district and must be negotiated. The Superintendent shall work with the district's labor attorney to assure that negotiations are conducted in a timely manner to meet the policy deadline for Board action.
The district calendar shall set forth the starting and ending days for the school year, holidays, student marking periods, student conference days, teacher record days, and in-service training days.
The Board approves the county calendar perpetual formula that has been adopted by the Berrien County school district Superintendents to provide uniform Christmas and Spring Vacations for all students of the county and has entered into a memorandum of understanding with its collective bargaining units regarding this formula.
