ATTENDANCE AREAS
School attendance areas
shall conform to guidelines established by the federal court order.
Students shall attend the school within
their attendance area unless they are enrolled in a magnet school or
program approved by the Board or, if in the judgment of the
Superintendent or designee, a transfer to another building would be
desirable for individual student safety or extenuating and unusual
circumstances. Requests for individual student transfer shall not be
honored for babysitting and transportation convenience of parents and/
or students.
The Superintendent or designee shall
develop procedures for requesting individual student transfer to a
school outside that students' attendance area upon parental request and
only for reasons of student personal safety or extenuating and unusual
circumstances.
The Superintendent shall have a current
map of all school attendance areas readily available to all citizens and
school personnel of the district each school year.
