SCHOOL DISTRICT LEGAL STATUS State law provides that all
school districts be operated by a board of education, selected as
specified in state statutes.
A
board of education is an agency of the State, subject to the laws of the
State in the operation of the district, and responsible to the State
Board of Education for their implementation.
