Following the tradition of college player turned coach Clayton Teetzel who guided Benton Harbor to the 1903 State Championship, the Tigers have hired former Michigan State player Larry Jackson as our new head coach.  This is Jackson's second stint at Benton Harbor having served as an assistant coach under Larry Featherstone in the 2000 and 2001 seasons. Coach Jackson brings close to 20 years of football experience to Benton Harbor Area Schools.

 

The Tigers suit up and play at the historic Filstrup Field {Filstrup Field}  which dates back to the 1920's, built on top of Empire Hill adjacent to Empire Avenue in Benton Harbor.  The unique stadium features all of the seating on one side of the field stretching from goal line to goal line.  The award winning TMB, the Tiger Marching Band, helps to build the game day experience of Tiger home games.

 

To help make this football program a success WE NEED PARENTAL SUPPORT AND INVOLVEMENT. We are asking for your help in the following ways: have your son at school and practice on time every day, make sure your son is eating healthy meals every day and make sure your son gets proper sleep every night.

 

Also, we are starting up a new Football Booster Committee to help organize our activities during the football season.

 

Help is needed in the following areas:

 

• Concession Stand
• Football Booster Planning
• Fundraising
• Meals for 2-3 day practices
• Summer Camp Help- (meals, transportation, supplies, etc.)
• Prepare meals for away/home games
• T-shirt Orders, etc.
